Oh wow! Did that really happen? A colleague at work has just told you all their problems about ... the boss / the spouse / the kids/ the bank ... and by the end of it they thank you because they feel sooo much lighter now. Yay for them, but how do you feel after this exchange? Feeling drained, exhausted, heavy? Well that's because you just experienced an energy dump. We are constantly exchanging energies with the people around us and some of it is toxic. But there are ways to strengthen your energetic boundaries and minimise this happening. So lets start at the beginning, What is your energetic or subtle body?
Our energetic body is our aura and it is a field of energy that extends beyond our physical body. This energy is much more subtle than our physical body so it is not visible to the eye as it vibrates at a high frequency. It consists of 7 basic layers which are; etheric, emotional, mental, astral, etheric template, celestial and causal. Each layer holds different forms of information relating to our physical health, emotions and feelings, thoughts and mental processes. Physical illness and dis-ease begin as an imbalance in our energetic body. If we are not aware of this and the imbalance is not healed it will eventually manifest in the physical body. When our aura has holes, weak spots or thinning we can experience disturbances which take many different forms. Some common signs of energetic boundaries issues. as described in Cyndi Dale's book 'Energetic Boundaries' are;
For most people, clearing the aura is the first step to feeling healthier physically, emotionally, mentally and even spiritually. To continue doing this is a great practice to incorporate into your day. As you strengthen your aura you may find that you sleep better, you are more calm and importantly develop the ability to say 'no'. This doesn't make you a selfish person or an uncaring person by the way, it just means that you are caring for yourself which is no less important than caring for someone else. Ok, are you ready to clean up and strengthen your aura? There are many ways to cleanse and strenghten your aura so I will list my top five favourites.
I also recommend regular sessions for chakra balancing or reiki to keep a healthy energy flow and high vibe. I would love to hear how you care for your aura and any processes that have helped you gain or maintain healthy energetic boundaries. I find that there is often an interesting story of growth behind peoples desire to learn about and develop boundaries and they are usually very inspiring.
